Veils

A yard of tulle typically costs about 75 cents. A wire comb costs about a dollar. Strangely, wedding veils which consist of a yard of tulle, a wire comb, and little labor costs brides from $50 to $500.

To save money (and to not be raped by bridal stores) it is best to make your own veil. Most women, even if they have never handled a needle and thread in their life, can make a wedding veil. If, however, they feel uncomfortable with making their own veil most women have friends or family members who are willing to lend their abilities to save the bride hundreds of dollars.

There are many websites dedicated to making veils. Using the internet, anyone can create a stunning wedding veil that won't break the bank.

Bride blog fail

Sorry for the lack of blog entries. Life happens. I will now continue updating this blog regularly even though no one is reading it.

Bridal show coming soon

On Sept. 20 Bakersfield's Rabobank Arena will be hosting a bridal show. The Ultimate Bridal Event will begin at noon. Bridal shows are a great way for brides to visualize what they want for their wedding. The show will exhibit new flower arrangements and the latest fashions for brides and bridesmaids.

The Ultimate Bridal Event hopes to inspire brides-to-bes with ideas they can incorporate into their wedding. There will be many professionals in the wedding industry who would be available to offer their services or their suggestions. Vendors will gather and sometimes give discounts to brides who decided to book with them at the show. This competition between vendors will be helpful for those brides who are hoping to save some money. It is also helpful because brides can meet and compare a variety of vendors in only one location.

Gifts will be given to the first 200 guests and brides will have the option to register for prizes. The Ultimate Bridal Event is giving a chance for a couple to win a three day honeymoon vacation to the place of their choosing. In order for a bride to take advantage of this prize she needs to attend the event and register. It is best to resister online to avoid long registry lines at the bridal show.

Although bridal shows have a lot to offer brides, they tend to advertise extravagant and costly things. Bridal shows offer women plenty of inspiration but the vendors and offers provided at Bridal shows tend to be too expensive for brides on a budget. It is far better to look for local vendors who cannot afford to be at the bridal show. They tend to cost less than the more well known companies, they provide a more personal service, and there is a less likely chance that brides would have to be put on a waiting list for their services years in advance.

Walking your dog down the isle

In Bakersfield many residents are owners of dogs. That's no surprise when considering that Bakersfield is one of the best cities to own a dog. Bakersfield supplies dogs with huge parks like the Riverwalk and huge backyards. Thus, many brides become very attached to their animal and feel the need to include them in their wedding party.

Pros:
If Fido is a very important member of the family, it's understandable to want to include him in the wedding. Dogs are typically obedient and loveable. If your dog however is an overprotective pit-bull you may want to reconsider having him at the wedding. Your dog will make the wedding more unique and guest will definitely love showering your pooch with affection.
Most dogs also do well with children. If you plan to include children in your guest list you can decrease their boredom (and your responsibility over the dog) by letting the kids play with the dog. This also creates many wonderful photo opportunities for the photographer. Kids and animals are very cute.

Cons:
Having a dog at a wedding relies on a number of crucial factors. Dogs are typically unwelcome to most ceremony and reception sites. That means that your only option is to have an outdoor or a home wedding. This can be troublesome if you plan to have your wedding during the winter or summer months where the weather might be too cold or hot.
Also, it's normal for things to go wrong on the big day. No matter how many obedience classes your dog has graduated from he will probably need to use the restroom in the middle of your ceremony (that's almost as inevitable as having your flower girl throw a temper tantrum). Odds are that your dog will also bark, pee, or just behave poorly while your attention is no longer on him but is on the minister and your husband.

If you do decided to include your dog in the wedding prepare to be flexible. Dogs can't be reasoned with due to their poor ability to communicate. It will probably be best to appoint a loved one or a family member to control or escort the dog away from the wedding. This way things will run more smoothly and you can focus more on being the bride

Bakersfield Brides

Any native of Bakersfield will understand that this city in California is less than ideal for romance to blossom. Some can blame the dry riverbed that snakes through the town or the air which is thick with dust for it's pathetic atmosphere. Despite Bakersfield's lackluster appearance, love can blossom anywhere in this area that is often referred to the devil's armpit.
With Bakersfield Bride Blog, brides in Kern County can learn many things involving the wedding industry. Bride-to-bes can learn how to haggle with vendors, create different DIY crafts, plan honeymoons, and prepare for life after the wedding vows. This blog will definitely help those brides who are suffering from this economic depression. Bakersfieldbrideblog.blogspot.com is ideal for those women who don't want or can't afford a planner.
